Apple launches macro photography on iPhone 13 Pro challenge

Apple has launched a macro photography Shot on iPhone challenge. The Cupertino tech giant is inviting everyone to submit their best macro photos shot on iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The winning photos will be celebrated in a gallery on Apple Newsroom, apple.com/sg, Apple Instagram (@apple), and other official Apple accounts.

In addition, the winning photos may appear in Apple digital campaigns, Apple Store locations, billboards, or in a public photo exhibition. Winners will be paid a licensing fee when their winning photos are used on such Apple marketing channels.

To participate, you can share favourite macro photos – shot on only with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max – on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags #ShotoniPhone and #iPhonemacrochallenge. Or you can email your images in their highest resolution to shotoniphone@apple.com, using the file format ‘firstname_lastname_macro_iPhonemodel’. The subject line must be ‘Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge Submission’.

The judging panel consists of five Apple photography experts and five professional photographers from around the world, including Singapore’s Yik Keat Lee, better known as YK, who has over a million followers on TikTok.

This challenge is undoubtedly to showcase the macro photography capabilities of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. You can get as close as 2cm and utilise its 0.5x ultra-wide-angle camera to capture your macro shots.

This iPhone macro challenge started on Tuesday (Jan 25) and will end on Feb 17, 3.59pm SGT. The winners will be announced sometime in April.
